Robert Clark 72' 'Zenara'

Boatmatch are looking for a new keeper for the beautiful Robert Clark 72’ ‘Zenara’. Originally built in 1972 for the Ocean Youth Club, she was one of a series built in the UK. Known then as ‘Master Builder’ she was designed with beautiful lines and built with a robust specification to be seaworthy for young people to enjoy offshore sailing safely.  She was purchased and refitted over a period of years by her previous owner to a high standard for private blue water cruising.

I became involved with her in 2008 when I was asked to market her and she sold to her current owner from her berth in Fowey, in the West Country of the UK.  She has since cruised extensively in the Mediterranean and between Europe and the Caribbean.

During ‘Zenara’’s current ownership, the refit works have continued; engineering works include a new engine, bow thruster, generator, charging system and batteries; other work includes replacing the rigging, sails & back stay (including hydraulics). Internally she has benefitted from many upgrades and will prove to be a hugely comfortable blue water yacht.

Designed to be safe in all weather conditions, she is hugely powerful and with her ketch rig she is easy to handle and tracks well. I had the pleasure of sailing her from Fowey to Plymouth on the tail end of a big blow in the UK Southern Approaches, she was stable and easily steered despite a large swell and gusts up to force six.

Her beautiful lines will grace any port, her build quality and finishes will outlast most modern yachts and she will give a huge return on your investment if you want a classic blue water cruising yacht.

Priced at £219,000 she is incredible value when compared with many yachts offered in the market. Like a classic car, her condition is the most important factor when buying. This is a yacht that will not disappoint!
