Barley Picle is a very sea-kindly, solidly built boat that has cruised successfully and safely around the British coast, Holland and France for many years. She has comfortable accomodation and excellent mahogany and teak trim; drawing admiring looks and comments wherever she goes. She is easy to sail and once in the groove will happily steer a true course for days if required. I believe a sister ship was cruised by Rod Heikell around the Meditteranean whilst compiling his well known Pilots.
Service history: Last year the deck and topsides were stripped back to the wood and completely sheathed in eopxy before being repainted. As with all wooden boats there is an ongoing need for varnish and paint and this has been kept up over the years. Below decks she is clean and tidy and all teak flooring has been treated with Deckjs Olje. She has had a new rudder and tiller in the last 4 years and the engine has had regular oil changes and new exhaust, alternator and morse controls. .
