Owner's Comments of the Seaquest SJ320

?BIG BEESTE?

SEAQUEST SJ320 (MAY 2001)

?What the present owner says???????

Big Beeste was built by Seaquest Yachts and then transported to Big Nigel at Rig Magic who supplied and fitted the rig and some extra deck fittings. The hull was treated to 5 coats of Gelshield epoxy at the factory before antifoul and the underwater surfaces were very carefully prepared.

Beeste competed in the Sail East and Haven Series when sailed by the previous owners from 2001 to October 2003 with great success but was slightly hampered in showing her true speed by the fact that virtually all racing during this time had been in light winds!! However the up side of that was that the sails and gear were all very lightly used and are in excellent condition. The interior of the boat was re-varnished at the beginning of 2003 so she is very clean and smart down below.

Racing since October 2003.

Walton?on Naze to Scarborough; Scarborough to Torquay; Torquay to Cork; Cork to Treguier Britanny; Treguier to Torquay; Torquay to Scarborough; Scarborough to Ijmuiden Holland; through Holland and back to Scarborough via Texel and Den Oever North Holland

In preparation for The Triangle Race ? a 2 handed Race from Torquay to Cork to Britanny and back to Torquay she was fitted with Radar, DSC Radio and Navtex, Garmin 182C Chart Plotter with Charts for the whole of the UK, New Spinnaker, Light Airs Spinnaker, Jon Bouy. Avon Commercial Liferaft and Storm Spinnaker! On the Torquay to Cork leg she exceeded 18.2 knots and coped very well with over 38 knots across the deck with 2 pensioners as crew. Following a serious accident whilst ashore in Holland the owner will be unable to use his right hand for many months and feels that ?Beeste? is too good to leave swinging on a pontoon so regretfully offers her for sale with all the above on board. As can be seen by the inventory no expense was spared on the original purchase with virtually every standard fitting enhanced or upgraded, resulting in an initial purchase price well in excess of ?92,000.00. This spec today will cost well over ?110,000.00 with the additional sails instrumentation and safety equipment added by the present owner. She therefore represents an amazing bargain at the asking price. She is currently afloat in Scarborough Harbour North Yorkshire.Test sails can be arranged and she can be sailed to any coastal port if the purchaser would like to come as skipper or crew or just have her delivered at a fee to be negotiated.
