America is little-known gaff-rigged schooner, modelled on state-of-the-art pilot ships of New York, defeated all fourteen of Britain's finest racing yachts of the Royal Yacht Squadron and astonished the world.
So was born the legend that was 'AMERICA' - her clipper bow and fast tin-plated hull the like of which had never been seen before - leading to the creation of the most famous event in yacht racing: THE AMERICAS CUP
MAN diesel engine of 271hp with 6-cylinders (last serviced in 2006). The gear box is hydraulic with mechanical controls. A centred shaft-driven, 4-bladed propellor pushes her fast through the water - up to 11 knots.

This schooner is one of only three existing replicas of the legendary schooner America. She was built after a thorough two year research project. The building process started in June 2003 and the vessel was officially registered and set sail on June 17th 2005. Some of the best specialists in education and shipbuilding in Bulgaria collaborated to make this project become a reality. The apperance of this boat is as close to the original as possible, while the interior is designed according to all the requirements of a modern yatch. She has a steel hull, which makes her lighter than the traditional wooden vessels and much easier to maintain. The guidelines which were followed in building this vessel were to create a modern yacht with facilities to charter.
This is the closet of the three existing replicas of the America. She was designed and built to look as authentic as possible to the vessels of the period and to be sailed in the traditional manner. She requires a capable crew minimum of four. She is very fast and has very elegant lines and profile. Every piece was hand-crafted and custom-made specially.
154 YEARS LATER... Bulgaria Black Sea 2005
After 2 years of research and a similar period of construction the finest shipbuilders on the Black Sea launched the closest of all three known replicas of 'America' in all her glory.
Every detail of the original tin-over-timber 'America' was painstakingly hand-crafted but using modern and robust materials. 9mm steel below the water-line with 5 water-tight compartments, pine masts with glass-fibre and teak superstructure - all new and ready for a lifetime's use. Designed and built to be sailed in the traditional manner she is extremely fast and, by appearance, just about as authentic as you can get; yet she requires only four competent crew.
The Shipbuilder Owners are on hand to take you through every detail and explore designing and building modifications to the interior for your own special purpose.
