I am the second owner of Mantra having bought her in December 1995 to do a circumnavigation. My reasons for selling are that I am in my 70th year, I have completed my circumnavigation and I am going to buy a boat to keep on the French canals.Mantra has lived up to my expectations. She is safe, comfortable, spacious and has style. She is a pleasure to cruise and to live aboard. She is easily handled by two people. For most of the circumnavigation the ship’s complement was myself (in my late sixties) and my lady crew (not much younger). I would be completely confident in taking Mantra around the world again right away.
Mantra is Hull number 34 of the 14.70 designs and therefore has the higher bridge deck modification built from hull 30 onwards.Out of prudence and also for insurers, I had a rigging survey done in November 2002 and a full out-of-water and in-water survey done in October 2002/January 2003. These can be made available to a serious purchaser, together with my on-going work list of jobs waiting to be done.I have a multitude of operating notes, servicing lists, etc. on my PDA and there is a comprehensive “Operating Manual†which I wrote for crew and as an aide memoire for myself. I would be happy to pass these on to the next owner..
