This Bavaria 42' was one of the last of the Lloyds registered yacht designs produced by Bavaria in 2001. With a Kevlar strengthened bow and sail locker forward of the main double cabin she is a safe and comfortable yacht.
We took the boat to the Mediterranean in its first year and have sailed in Spain, the Balearics and now in northern Sardinia in what must be one of the best sailing area in the world.
The price includes the current marina berth just 5 miles from the Costs Esmeralda.
The boat was originally purchased from Opal Marine in Hayling island in the UK and the original invoice showing VAT paid in the UK is available. All equipment is original factory fit except an upgraded anchor with 50 Meters of chain to give greater holding.
Holding tanks were installed to allow sailing in
French waters and the Bavaria performance sail pack was added giving a partially battened in-mast furling main. The original foresail has now been replaced with a maxi roach battened Genoa and 120%, improving down wind performance for easy handling on long runs and giving a good turn of speed.
Teak decks were laid by the factory to all areas except the coach roof.
A dinghy was added two seasons ago with an inflatable keel and a 5 Hp 4 stroke Yamaha engine (Only 15 hours) as is a Kayak used for fun at anchor.
The inside of the boat has an optional second shower factory fitted in the rear heads and a holding tank, the water system is electric and provides both hot and cold water.
The Galley has plenty of storage, a fridge, double ring and two burner cooker with oven. There are three cabins, two at the back with
wardrobes and springs fitted under the mattresses which share one of the heads. The main fore cabin has its own heads and shower en-suite.
The saloon has seating for eight in comfort around the central table, a library and navigation table.
The navigation area holds the GPS plotter with charts for Sardinia and Corsica as well as southern spain, a VHF radio a sony CD/DVD player and electric control panel, Shore charge is under the chart table.
We have enjoyed this yacht now for 7 years but with a change of Job I cannot take the time off I could in the Summer ( On average 6 weeks per year) and would not like to see such a lovely yacht sit there un-used.
