Sails of the Elan 40 - Standard mast silver anodised 7/8 fractional mast with twin aft swept spreaders and stainless steel standing rigging, deck stepped. Silver anodised boom with Selden solid strut vang and boom with lazyjacks and slab reefing mainsail. Spinnaker pole + mast track.

ACCOMODATION
Fore Cabin - The large fore cabin has a large V berth with plenty of storage underneath. To port and starboard as you enter the cabin are his and hers cupboards with drawers and lockers and there are parcell shelves running the full length on either side. Ventilation and natural light is provided by 1 x large and 2 x small opening deck hatches. Cabin lighting and warm air heating vent.
Saloon - The saloon is spacious and laid out in a traditional manner making best use of the space. There is plenty of light and ventilation via 5 opening port lights in the coachroof and a large central deck hatch. The main saloon seating is to stbd with large table which converts easily into a double berth, opposite this to port is a single sette which will sleep a child. The main saloon seating is atractively formed and the new Stone coloured Leatherette upholstery is beautifull. The warm air vent is under the saloon table.
Navigation station- Situated to port is the Nav area with large forward facing chart table with fixed seat. The instrumentation pannel also houses the ships electrical distribution board.
Galley - The L shapped galley is excellent with plenty of worksurface and general sotrage for provisions and crockery etc. There are 2 stainless steel sinks with hot and cold water via mixer tap, 3 burner hob and oven and Isotherm Fridge.
Aft Cabins - Twin Aft cabins with double berths, hanging lockers and parcel shelves offer good storage and opening portlights provide extra light and ventilation.
Heads compartment - With white Jabsco sea toilet, sink with hot and cold water via mixer tapshower head. This compartment is in a white easy clean finish, with cupbord doors finished in a wood laminate.

A perfect balance between performance and comfort. This is an ideal boat for family cruising or cruiser racing. She is well set up with all lines lead aft to the cockpit for easy control. The deep fin keel makes the boat stiff and gives good windward performance and she is a full category A offshore boat, well balanced and seakindly.
These boats were sold with either the tall performance rig or a standard mast and this boat has the standard mast with the deep keel. This makes her easy to use for cruising as well as racing.
