This Sabreline SL36 was built by the US manufacturers to a very high standard of finish, While the name 'Trawler' gives hints of a fishy origin the Sabreline SL36 bears no resemblance to its namesake. The Sabreline SL36 does, however, maintain the traditionalist and sensible styling of its historic forbears, combining wide and safe side decks with a Teak and Holly interior.
This Sabreline SL36 has had extensive work done, including osmosis preventative measures and new sets of propellers.
She was also the first of the type in the UK and was the subject of an extensive 'Motor Boat and Yachting' review in June 1998.
This Sabreline SL36 was used by Transworld Yachts as their demonstrator while owned by its origonal owners and covered 1,700 nm in 180 hours. My wife and I purchased the boat in 1999.
At our purchase new propellers were fitted and we had the old ones refurbished and refitted with the new as spares.
Osmotech UK were commissioned to provide anti osmosis protection to the hull and to fit a bow thruster and radar reflector. Hamble Point Yacht Services fitted rope cutters to the props. A Status TV antenna was also fitted.
She was launched in early 2000 and has been kept in Hythe ever since, covering a total of 3,500 miles in 450 hours.
She has given my wife and I a very pleasant life style for the past years with never a moments trouble.
