Currently lying in Swansea, Aztec 2 has an excellent racing record. Over the last four years among many individual race wins she has won The Cruiser Challenge and the Cruiser Challenge Team Prize (twice), the DBSC Thursday Series of 17 races (twice), the Royal Irish Regatta, placed well in Cork Week in 2004 in class 3 where finishing 6th out of 39 she beat all the J109s and 6th again in 2006 in class 2. 3rd in the Cruiser Racer Championship at the Sovereigns Cup in Kinsale in 2005 behind Antix and Vodoo Chile. Winner of the 2006 Royal Alfred Superleague which counts all the yacht club regatta results.
As well as the hull being faired, 200kg of lead was added in the bilges to improve stability, upwind speed and optimise handicap.
Service history: Aztec underwent a substantial refit in 2005:-Hull epoxied and treated with Copper Coat so antifouling will not be needed for the next 5 to 7 years. New Nordic mast and running rigging (spectra) fitted. Deck repainted in non slip light grey. New batteries fitted. New propeller fitted (2 bladed folding). New GPS Map plotter fitted. New stereo radio/cd player and deck speakers fitted. Floors varnished.
