80´Whitbread Maxi Ketch, custom built by Jaycad Shipyard, Poole, U.K. Designed by John Sharpe. Launched in 1973 as BURTON CUTTER, she competed in the first Whitbread Round the World Race. As KRITER II she went on to gain fame as one of the two fastest sailing yachts on the London-Sydney-London route. In 1985 she was converted to a comfortable ocean cruising yacht with completely new interior joinery and a new coachroof. She is of aluminium construction with a Burma teak deck, new in 2001. The entire vessel was repainted in Awlgrip in 2001. Cutter rigged ketch. All standing rigging was renewed in 1996. Roller furling foresails. slab reefing on main and mizzen. Accommodation for eight guests in the forward part of the vessel with two double berth en-suite cabins and two bunk berth cabins, sharing a wc/shower compartment. The spacious Owner´s Suite is aft with a double and single berth and en-suite facilities. Very large, attractive and tastefully furnished Saloon with a separate well equipped Galley area. Twin Perkins 4.236 84 h.p. diesel engines. Full surveys in 1997 and 2001 and all recommendations carried out. The yacht is exquisite in every detail. She is totally equipped and ready to depart for private world cruising or equally well designed for luxury charter.
