Owner's Comments of the 17 Metre Classic Cutter Rig

Built by Cantiere Naval in Pisa, Italy. Pinocchio is a modern cutter rigged sloop designed by the renowned Italian designer Bruno Veronesi, known for his classical style and experience to build strong vessels, capable of sailing the oceans of the world.

Pinocchio is constructed with grown oak frames with 2 traditional mahogany planking and teak decking.

Service history: During July 2003 a full survey was carried out and 80,000 repairs and refurbishment carried out accordingly. The planking and hull has been re-fixed and re-caulked where necessary, copper guard system for the hull applied professionally and fully re-painted top sides.Having undergone an extensive refurbishment by her previous owner in 1991 (circa £200k in Gibraltar), in 1992 her original timber mast, rigging and sails were replaced with aluminium mast spars, stainless steel rigging and sails by Hood (including roller foresail and mainsail). The mast was removed for an overhaul and powder coated finish in 1998.More recently, Pinocchio has undergone considerable re-design and refurbishment by her current owner to make her a very comfortable vessel for up to nine guests.
