J 35s were introduced in 1983. About 330 have been built the last of which in 1992There are more J/35s racing one-design and under handicap, than any other sailboats over 30 feet LOA in the world - 300 boats in 15 nations. No other 35 footer can match her all-round speed and race winning record. The J 35 is a modern classic and was recently inducted into the American Sailboat Hall of Fame. They continue to win as recently witnessed by Jacana winning her class (IRC3) at Ford Cork Week 2002 and Tarbert 2001Ninja is in very good condition having had many cruising features added to make her more comfortable and easily handled by a crew of two. However, she can easily revert back to out-and-out racing spec by the removal of items such as the sprayhood, boarding ladder on transom etc
