A Happy New Year from Boatmatch.com
First of all, I wish all my clients, customers and friends in our industry a happy and successful 2024.
I'm not sure where time has gone, but this year marks 20 years from the final boat show in Earls Court, London. I have many happy memories of the show having first attended as a visitor in 1967 and as an exhibitor from 1979 through to 2000, my final show spent on the pool exhibiting the Humphreys One Design 35' with Havoc Yachts.
Simon Walworth co-founded Boatmatch.com in 2000 with Jonathan Hamlyn and Tim Robinson, the web site launched was at 2001 Earls Court Boat Show. We enjoyed many years together developing the business, Tim retiring from the business in 2008 and Jonathan in 2014. Boatmatch is now owned by Simon & William Walworth.
In November 2023 we welcomed Nigel Goodhew on board. A long standing friend, Nigel has many years' experience and considerable expertise in cruiser racers, one design race boats, and with the demands of the modern coastal and offshore cruising community. As a long term yacht owner, Nigel is well known on the Solent circuit and able to offer a nuanced perspective to our clients and customers.
Over the last few years we have concentrated on the cruiser and cruiser racer market, but this doesn’t stop us marketing motor yachts. Over the past 24 years we have acted for buyers in the sale and purchase of hundreds of sail and power boats, many abroad. I am totally confident we can probably deal with any eventuality relating to the sale or purchase of a boat.
