Code of Practice ~ UK Boat Retailers and Brokers Association
The Boat Retailers and Brokers Association (BRBA) was formed by the British Marine Federation (BMF) to ensure good business practice in new and used boat sales. Made up of over 160 members, the Boat Retailers and Brokers Association (BRBA) represents all BMF member companies involved in a sale of new and second-hand craft. It encourages the training and development of individuals working in this field and aims to indentify, debate and resolve the specific issues affecting the boat retail and brokerage sector.
All accredited BRBA members adhere to a strict Code of Practice, the code covers guidance and standards relating to Professional indemnity insurance, recorded history of ownership of second-hand craft offered for sale, the VAT status of second-hand craft; all relevant legislation (RCD etc); use of accredited surveyors; in house dispute resolution and industry-led training.
