Contessa 32 (number 396) sail number IRL 120. Built Dec 1973, launched in 1974.
A good example of a timeless classic cruiser/racer, this Contessa 32 has been carefully maintained and improved with new windows, a new cockpit, new Lewmar 45ST mainsheet winches, new toe rail, new windows, new Raymarine Elements navigation system and AIS transponder, new Darglow Featherstream propeller and new mainsheet traveller with increased gearing. The hull was vinyl wrapped in autumn 2022 in 3M boat blue; it looks beautiful, is easy to repair if needed (spare material provided) and lasts as long as a painted hull. Other work and upgrades include new tiller, new rudder bearings, new batteries, new sprayhood and additional solar panel with charge controller fitted in 2020; and, new water purifier and new starter motor in 2023.
Badger of Baltimore offers many more years of sailing and is ready to go with no work needed to make her watertight (we removed annoying drips and leaks) and as safe and easy to sail as practicable. Badger benefits from Coppercoat anti-fouling, which is more environmentally friendly than traditional anti-fouling and is easy to keep clean.
